After 1930.  Likely taken in Thompsonville, Michigan.
Roswell Merrill, Uncle of Leta's husband Albert "Bud" Stilwell
Leta Stilwell, Katherine Otto-Merrill, wife of Roswell.
(note Roswell's first wife Maude died in 1930, and I wonder
if the identification on the back is correct.  This could be Maude
     not Katherine.

Dear Cousins, Aunts, Uncles and Friends,                    January 18, 2015
I am writing about my Grandmother Leta Stanton-Stilwell-Lonn.  When I finish I will post it to this blog, Stilwell Genealogy, with photos, newspaper clippings, census records and other documents that I have.  I’d like to include your memories and stories.

I would say something like this, including your name and relationship to Leta.  Granddaughter Deborah Stilwell-Storbeck remembers Grandma’s thin, crepe-like pancakes, hot brown sugar syrup and tall glasses of cold whole milk just after dawn.

The recipes are:
Grandma Lonn’s Pancakes                             Brown Sugar Syrup
1 egg                                                           2 cups brown sugar
1 cup flour                                                    1 cup water
1 to 1 ½ cup milk*                                        Boil good, don’t burn.
1 teaspoon baking soda

*Butter milk or sour milk or sweet milk
with 2 teaspoons of baking soda

I am posting what I have so far in my next entry.  There may be changes and corrections before I am finished.  It is my goal to do an ancestor each month beginning with Leta Stanton, Albert Stilwell, Louis Crosby and Josephine Richard.

All suggestions welcome.  Thanks.
